At Learning to Learn Consultancy, my approach is grounded in the principles of
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)—a proactive, evidence-based framework that
focuses on improving quality of life and long-term outcomes for children and young
people.
I work directly with school staff and leadership teams to build a clear, shared
understanding of behaviour. Rather than focusing only on what behaviour looks like,
I support teams to explore why it happens—identifying the underlying functions and
the environmental, sensory, and communication factors that may be influencing it.
Using a function-based approach, I help schools to:
A key part of my work is developing a shared understanding of behaviour across
the whole team. When everyone responds in a consistent and informed way,
meaningful and lasting change is far more likely to happen.
Through coaching, training, and collaborative problem-solving, I aim to build
confidence and capability within school teams—ensuring that strategies are not only
effective, but sustainable in the long term.
My focus is always on supporting schools and educational settings to create
environments where pupils feel understood, supported, and able to succeed.
Understanding behaviour fully, helps to provide replacement behaviours which
enable children and young people to access learning in a meaningful way.
